Meet Sandy Ang
Bold and fun are the two words that best describe Sandy for
me. I first found her blog on a grey and depressing day
last winter. I followed a link and there was joy jumping
out of my computer. Sandy scraps with a verve that never
fails to make me smile.
It was Sandy's love of dimension that first caught my eye.
Everything on her creations pops off the page--literally.
She does not stop with just being 3 dimensional, but will layer
more and more items until she has created a life like picture
out of die cuts. Amazing!
How does Sandy inspire me? Because of Sandy's
wonderful example, I added orange and gold into my scrapbooking
over the last few months. I also have a stash of bottles,
boxes, and bins just waiting to be altered. I know the
moment I throw something away that I will open Sandy's blog and
see her use it perfectly, so I keep it all. But I have no
doubt that with Sandy's inspiration, I will use it all.
Thanks, Sandy!

Autumnal Candle Holders by Sandy Ang
Supplies: Stickers: Best Creation, Tag: Best Creation,
Ribbon: Maple Treehouse, Other: candleholders, candles.
Editor's Note: I just love how Sandy
turned a few stickers and ribbon into the perfect fall
decorations!

Tag Clock
by Sandy Ang
Supplies:
Paper: Ruby Rock-It, Rub-On: Basic Grey, My Little Yellow
Bicycle, Other: acrylic photo
frame, watch hands, watch mechanism, brad, baker's twine, buttons.
Design Notes: This tag clock has two
off-set circles acting as the clock face. The tag is glued to
the front of the acrylic while the clock mechanism is glued to
the back. To the clock hands to the mechanism, I punched a hole
through the acrylic of the frame.

Altered Milk Bottles
by Sandy Ang
Supplies: Paper: Ruby Rock-It, Other:
milk bottles, buttons.
Design Notes: When creating layered
labels, I start with an interesting shape and add smaller
elements to it. Then I work on extending the shape with other
pieces lengthwise or diagonally. Lastly I glue on little accents
like buttons or ribbons for textural interest.

I'm Sandy Ang. A 40-something, paper-based crafter from the sunny, little island of
Singapore. A cardmaker, off-the-page project creator and (very) occasional scrapper.
I love playing with lines and shapes to produce layered, textural
works. Constructing three dimensional items out of paper and repurposing everyday
objects through alteration are particular loves of mine.
I approach each project as
an exciting opportunity to try to something new (with fingers crossed that it
succeeds). I design for a US manfucturer (Best Creation) and local scrapbook stores
in Singapore (KCK), Australia (Hobby Sew) and New Zealand (Artfull Crafts).
