Holiday Cards

How do you feel about sparkle?  For me, the holiday season includes lots of shine from glint of holiday lights against the snow to the glitter of holiday cards and gifts.  There is just something about gold and silver that says "happy holidays" to me.

These cards are a perfect example.  Each one uses a little bit of sparkle to help celebrate the season.  I love how they use non traditional elements like banners, snowflakes, and scrollwork to add detail to the sentiments.  The recipients of these gorgeous cards will certainly feel the love and joy of the season.

Happy Hannukah by Dr. Irit Shalom

Supplies: Cardstock: Die Cuts with View, Transparency: Hambly Studios, Dies: Cheery Lynn Designs, Glaze: Ranger, Sticker: EK Success.

Design Notes: Make your own Menora with any candle die- just build 9 candles in all different sizes. Number 8 can be done with 2 scalloped ovals as I did it here or with 2 circles, just use yours dies or punches to make it.

Joy Card by Michelle McClung

Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, Upsy Daisy Designs, Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Alphabet: American Crafts, Rub-ons: Daisy D's, Ink: Tsukineko, Embossing Powder: Hampton Art, Glitter Glue: Ranger, Other: twine. Tools: Stamp: Inkadinkadoo.

Design Notes: I was trying to stay away from traditional Christmas colors of Red, White, Green, and go for something a little more sophisticated. The gold also dressed it up a bit more.

Winter Wish by Dora Phillips

Supplies: Paper: Crate Paper, Cardstock: Papertrey Ink, Chipboard, Stickers: Crate Paper, Brad: BasicGrey, Twine: Jillibean Soup, Glitter: Martha Stewart Crafts.

Design Notes: Just a little glitter was the finishing touch for this card.  It just adds a bit of holiday sparkle.
