Terrific Titles

Dora Phillips

Like any gal who loves a good title, I adore fonts.  I have trouble resisting grabbing new ones often.  Although I will download a large variety, my two favorites are typewriter lowercase and cool scripts.  I find the mix of the two of them perfection in a title.

Each of these artists agrees!  Look how they mix a script with print for an easy solution to a long title.  By mixing the size and font, they are able to add more words without overwhelming a page.  Fabulous!

Together- for generations to come by Dr. Irit Shalom

Supplies: Paper, Chipboard, Stickers, Alphabet: Bo Bunny Press, Alphabet: Making Memories,  Ink, Glitter, Paint, Metals: Ranger Industries, Ribbon: American Crafts, Other: twine, book pages.  Tools: Punch: Marvy Uchida,  Stamp: Prima Marketing.

Design Notes: Scrapping heritage pages means to use this " time flies" items, so this page is totally full of clocks and watches, any possible kind, from a huge shaped cardstock to stickers and paper hand cuts. To make this title was a way to combine the paper saying with some alpha stickers to build a title explaining this whole page. As this photo is of my Mom (generation 1) and my daughter (generation 3) , I added those Roman chipboard numbers near each one and also added those " grandma" and " grand daughter" near the pages. As I scrap for the next generations, I think they need to understand what they see, maybe even 50 years after.

Long & Short of It by Gabby Covey

Digital Supplies: Kit: New Do by Miss Mint (PeppermintCreative.com), Jumbo Splatsters by Miss Mint (PeppermintCreative.com), Fonts: Liffey Script, Ruzicka Freehand.

Design Notes: Tilting the picture and the frame in different directions gives a whimsical, funky vibe to the page (which suits the new hairstyle).

Journaling: After months of growing my hair out to donate to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program, I finally made an appointment to get my hair cut. I knew I wanted something short and sassy, and Steffany Davies delivered! Now I’m ready to face the hot Texas summer! June 9, 2011

These Are the Moments by Rene Tibbets

Digital Supplies: Kit: Nordic Christmas Super Value Collection by Jeanet Almhøj (Digital Scrapbook Place), Frame Overlay: Say It In Large Frames Heritage by Christine Gundersen (Digital Scrapbook Place), Software: Adobe Photoshop CS4, Fonts: DSP Slacker Princess by Suzanne Walker (Digital Scrapbook Place).

Design Notes: This photo of me, my son, and my grandson was taken by my husband a few minutes after my grandson was born. To create the title, I placed the photo in the layer under the frame. I then clipped a digital paper to the frame, which then allowed my photo to show through the cut-out areas of the frame to accentuate the title.

Journaling: 3 generations Drew, Nana & Jace  shortly after his birth.
