Do you have winter pictures that need scrapping? If
so, blue is the color you need to reach for. Traditionally
the color associated with cold, it is the perfect choice for
showcasing a winter wonderland. When you mix white and
blue with your cold weather pictures, you add a chilly feeling.
Gabby, Irit, and Kim used several common elements in their
pages. They used blue and white as the central color
schemes. Each also chose to add in circles and swirls to
embellish. All three layouts have wonderful texture and
layering. Even though they have these commonalities, each
layout feels very different.
Gabby added in green and purple as she shows off her
blizzard photos. Irit used hints of red to reinforce the
idea of love. Kim built her page on a warm brown base to
mimic the nest of her favorite indoor home decor. All
three layouts show how to make the winter blues work for a
variety of occasions.

Journaling:
In the first week of February 2011, a huge ice and snowstorm hit the North
Texas area. As is usual, the entire Metroplex shut down. Unfortunately,
this lasted almost a week -- way longer than the normal storm we get. Here
at our apartment, we got close to 5 inches of snow! I measured almost 4 1/2
inches on my car alone! February 4, 2011

Love on snow

Supplies: Paper, Chipboard, Die Cuts, Ribbon: My Mind's Eye,
Alphabet: My Mind's Eye, My Little Shoebox,
Stickers: EK Success, Pink Paislee,
Buttons: Dress It Up.
Design Notes: Cut a huge circle in your basic cardstock, then fold the
thinner paper and glue it under the circle as I did on this page. Yes, it
is a bit thick for the album, so use it inside a frame. Don't afraid to use
stickers even if you can make some home die cuts, it saves a lot of time,
really.

Nesting Spot by Kim Faucher
Supplies: Paper: Donna Salazar Designs,
Paper Accents: K and Co, Alphabet: Maya Road, American Crafts, Pink Paislee,
Ink: Clearsnap, Chipboard: Making Memories, Ribbon: Kan Co,
Other: lace doily, brads.
Design Notes: I love adding special touches around my home to make it cozy.
I included lots of soft hues to create this page about my love of taking
care of my home.
I used several layers of pattern papers, textured laces and the effects of
browns which make the blues stand out and add a warmth to the feeling of this.
I added a handmade flower, used techniques of misting and antiquing to
give this a shabby, aged style.
Journaling: Making my home my own
special sanctuary.
