Hi, I'm so excited to have been given this opportunity to be a part of the Scrap Street staff. I have been scrapbooking since 2001, although it became an obsession only about a year or so ago. It started as a desire to preserve memories for my children and grew into a passion for creating.
I realized the importance for documenting life when I went on a trip to Hungary with my parents in 2001. My dad grew up there and I had always heard the stories about his life during the war and communist occupation, but when I saw first hand what they had lived through, it just blew me away. Seeing that made me appreciate my dad more and also made me appreciate what a nice, comfortable life I have here in the United States. It dawned on me that if something happened to my dad, all of those stories would be lost. Gone forever. I needed to find out all that I could so that our future generations will also remember and appreciate. I have been scrapping ever since. From stories about my heritage to everyday life or my love for Starbucks; it's all important. To creatively tell the story.
I live in sunny (and hot!) southern California with my wonderful husband of four and a half years. We have two little boys- ages three years and eleven months- and also have four furry babies- two cats and two dogs. I was a Licensed Veterinary Technician before I became a SAHM. Work was usually exciting. I worked for small animal and exotics hospitals so on any given day my patients ranged from dogs, cats, and birds to reptiles, bald eagles and Siberian tigers! I really miss working with the animals, but feel very blessed for being able to stay at home and spend so much time with my family.
