Hi all! My name is Stacey and I am 37 years old. I am married to a great guy named Steve and we have two children! I have been a special education teacher for 15 years. When I share my profession with people, they always comment that I must have a lot of patience. I don’t, but I do believe that we all have unique and wonderful talents! I love helping my students showcase their gifts, and approach that task with great drive and passion.
My other passion in life is scrapbooking. I have been scrapbooking for 8 years now and my addiction to paper and embellishments keeps growing as I create keepsakes for my family. The part I love the most is the journaling, searching for the right title and words. I can remember wanting to be a writer as far back as the second grade. At that time, I penned my first novel, another version of Jaws (and, no, it was not a 3D version). I dreamed of going to Columbia University and becoming a journalist. Although I went in a different direction professionally, I get my writing fix every time I create a layout! There is always a story to tell! I love the idea of using photos and journaling as a therapeutic tool, and have begun using scrapbooking as a means of self-reflection. Scrapbooking is truly my way of finding my center.
Just over a year ago, I started participating online and submitting to magazines. I have been lucky enough to be published a few times. I found ScrapStreet and am hooked! The magazine, the boards, and the people are fantastic. I find myself laughing out loud every time I read a post! Did I mention the highly creative and somewhat crazy challenges that have made me think outside the box? I can’t wait to continue to learn and be inspired, and maybe inspire others along the way. I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this community! Somebody pinch me!
