Nice and Clean!

Most of my scrappy friends know that I love keeping my layouts nice and simple. When I think about the reasoning behind this, I think about the fact that I do not like clutter. It drives me crazy! If you saw my house, it’s not the cleanest but it’s very organized. While simple layouts may appear “simple” I must say that these layouts can take time.

As a simple scrapper, I spend the majority of my time selecting the perfect photo and creating the right design for my layouts. Sure the layouts appear as if they were completed in under 10 minutes, but the process actually took an hour or longer because of the decision making process.

Cheese! by Nathalie Parmeggiani

Design Notes: It was so hard to catch a smile from both of these little monsters, they were too busy playing around the tree, I just said: stop!!! Say cheese!! And they did but in two seconds they were already gone, I couldn’t take another one! And off course, I couldn’t use anything else than a slice of paper cheese to illustrate this page! I made the cheese by cutting the cardstock. I love to scrap but I love even more to create patterned paper. I design a pattern on my computer and repeat it to fill a 12x12 page and then I use it in my layout. I always start with three or four colours and I make different patterns with these.

Design Notes: I didn't feel the need for any extra journaling other than the title because I just loved this photo of my youngest daughter who brings such happiness to my life. I paired it with the "Dear Lizzy" papers from American Crafts because they also make me happy!
