You may wonder how to get a collection of photos on one page, since one 12x12 page can only hold so many 4x6 shots. This is a great question and my answer would be to think “smaller”. Not in terms of numbers but in terms of size.
Why limit yourself to photos that are so large? A great way to allow for multiple photos on a layout is to use photo processing software. In such computer programs as Photoshop or Picasa, you can create collages with numerous photos, print off the collage and use it on a layout. Having images that are all of the same size help with any negative space issues, as you can see on the following layouts.

Supplies: Paper: October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket, Graphic 45, Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories, American Crafts, Ribbon: Maya Road, Other: thread, buttons.
Design Notes: Already glued everything down when you wanted to add circles behind your photo? Cut a circle using your template, then cut it in half and attach the half circles on the layout. No one would ever know! Instead of gluing your buttons directly on the layout, try threading them on the layout, you'll find that the buttons lay flatter and it will look more natural.
Journaling: Colorful scarves, Twilight series, soft shirts, blogging, homemade soup, beaded jewelry, Hair barrettes, craft books.

And again ... by Connie Mercer
Supplies: Paper: Sassafras Lass, Stickers: Sassafras Lass, Making Memories, American Crafts.
Design Notes: Print out all the "out takes" on 8.5"x11" photo paper and cut them in strips. Leave the frame number on; this gives a "movie reel" effect!
Journaling: We are setting for our Christmas card picture and not everyone is happy-but I think it came out great. With great lookin' kids you can't go wrong!!
