Couture Cardstock
The thrill of finding a great pair of jeans is something I think most of us can relate to. The rise, the overall fit, the way it makes your figure look – is there anything better? I personally have felt the “what if they lose my baggage” fear while flying, how could I ever live without those jeans – what would I do? I think a few of us can even relate when I tell you my deep dark flying secret; I always (I repeat always) fly with the jeans in my carry on! Why risk it?
Well for those of us that have been lucky enough to own those “great pair of jeans” you are in for a treat this month, because our designers are going to let you in on a little secret. We are going to share with you the “great pair of jeans” of paper crafting: cardstock! Now go ahead, scoot in close and take a peek because this cardstock is not your average cardstock. And, just like a great pair of jeans highlighting the best of you, this stuff is going to make your projects look amazing!

Here Comes Trouble by Dora Phillips
Supplies: Cardstock: Couture Cardstock, Die Cuts: Crate Paper, Bling: BasicGrey, Badge: American Crafts, Sticker Alphabet: Jillibean Soup, Font: Berlin Sans, Other: thread.
Tools: Punch: Fiskars, Other: sewing machine.
Design Notes: Couture Cardstock holds up to stitching beautifully. I like to stitch repeatedly over a spot which can only happen on a strong cardstock.
Journaling: One of my friends sent me this darling monkey named Trouble because it reminded her of me. It was mine until Allie saw her and just had to play with her. She packed Trouble up for the ball game and they looked for plenty of trouble together. Now Trouble lives in my office, but every now and again, Allie swipes her to hunt for a spot of trouble.

A Big Step by Michelle McClung
Supplies: Paper, Journaling Spots, Twine: Jillibean Soup, Cardstock: Couture Cardstock, Buttons: Foof-A-La (Autumn Leaves), Thread: Coates & Clark, Pen: American Crafts.
Tools: Electronic Cutter, Cartridge: Cricut (Provocraft), Other: sewing machine.
Design Notes: This cardstock was so vibrant and easy to work with, I just wanted to keep this layout uncluttered! Sewing on it was very simple, as the sewing machine needle went through it very easily because of the weight of this cardstock. I had different Couture Cardstock collections which contain cardstocks of a variety of weights and textures- such a great idea!
Journaling: 3/2010 The fireman's pole- all by yourself!

Biker Girl by Janis G. Medina-Maghinay

Design Notes: Cardstock not available in your desired color? Mist it! Here, I used my Riptide Glimmer Mist on my Couture white cardstock and cut strips of it for my journaling.
Journaling: First time to try one and you rode like a pro. |
