Hello, fellow digital scrappers! Welcome all scrappers! Say hi to our next digital discovery, Helen Parker!
While surfing through some of Helen's work, I just kept saying "Aw" after "Aw" after "Aw"! One page, better and
charming than the one before! Helen loves her white space, and creating on interesting lines seems to be her "thing".
Good thing, because it works!
I also love the nature vibe I get from Helen's work. Not sure if it's the wood-grain-like background in my
favorite of her pages, "Sunshine," or if it's her color palette, but the nature-like foundation of each layout gives
me a serene, smiley, yet fun feeling. Of course, then there is the fun surprise of her super bright yellow,"Play" -
I love it when a designer takes you places and not all in the same room. I imagine creating this layout with supplies
right out of the office!
Add all that and the fact that Helen is NOT afraid of some supply, and you have our newest digital discovery
and a fabulous designer! Congratulations, Helen, we wish you the very best in designing!

Sunshine by Helen Parker
Digital Supplies: Paper, Green Ribbon: Spring Cottage by Tracie Stroud Designs,
All Other: Play Date by Tracie Stroud Designs.
Editor's Note: I've always found that using perfectly diagonal lines is extremely difficult to pull of
successfully. Helen uses a diagonal line, but by adding a whimsical wave to the line, the stark triangular shape becomes a virtual
roller coaster ride for the eye.
Journaling: You are my sunshine my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey.

Play by Helen Parker
Digital Supplies: Play Date by Tracie Stroud Designs, Fonts: Courier, Pea Ninh.
Editor's Note: For more depth and dimension, try adding your title on your photos on a pile of embellishments,
as Helen did with diagonal flair on "Play".
Journaling: Trevor, You spent the night at Tanti Helen's house for the 2nd time and this time around
you were walking make that running all over the place. You don't stop until you discover something that interests you and in these
photos you can see it was my computer chair in the kitchen. You were fascinated with the wheels. I know you won't remember this day but I do
hope you will look at these photos and see what an amazing & imaginative little boy you were at the age of one. And I hope even more that you
never lose your sense of curiosity. August 2009 |
