Things haven't changed much over the years. Valentine's Day is a holiday I still look forward to every year. I still enjoy giving and receiving Valentine's cards, but the difference is that I now spend my hours in my craft room, crafting the perfect card for everyone on my list.

Recently, my husband’s Grandma expressed to me how much my handmade cards mean to her because she feels like there is less and less "real mail" being sent out. These cards have become treasures to her, and it hit me that Valentine's Cards really are treasures because you are sending your love to those you might not express it to everyday. So why not put your talent and your supplies to good use and let someone important to you know you care this Valentine's Day.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I want to encourage you to carve out some creative time this week and create a few cards. If you need some inspiration I am sure these cards will inspire you, as they have inspired me this month. Now get off the computer and create!

{Heart} U card by Janneke Smit

Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Chipboard: BasicGrey, Alphabet: Scenic Route, Ribbon, Charm: Making Memories, Paint: Junkitz, Ink: Clearsnap, Marker: P&M Products.

Design Notes: I covered a chipboard heart with a scrap of cardstock and distressed it with ink. I painted the letter to match my papers. The left side of the letter u is adhered on top of the heart, and to make the right side of the letter the same height I adhered a small piece of chipboard on the back.

Sweet Heart Card by Kathy Martin

Supplies: Paper: We are Memory Keepers, Neenah Paper, Button: Karen Foster Design, Trim: May Arts, Chalk: Craf-T, Rub-On: Junkitz, Floss: DMC.

Design Notes: Try cutting your striped paper at an angle- it brings focus to your sentiment.

Lacy Love Card by Heidi Van Laar

Supplies: Paper: American Crafts, Making Memories, Flowers: Prima Marketing, Pearls: Kaisercraft, Pop Dots: All Night Media, Other: ribbon.

Editor's Notes: The sentiment block on this card reminds me of the lacy doilies found in yummy chocolate Valentine's boxes. What would make a sweeter Valentine's card than that?
