Questions, Questions!
I wonder what kind of a person you are. Controlled and detail-oriented with lots of written lists or spontaneous and free…you know the fly-by-your-seat type? I am definitely the first and throwing caution to the wind is not usually my thing. But I like to take creative risks on my pages! Why not? It is just paper! This month, we are going to talk about an approach to journaling that will bring some spontaneity to your page! If you are looking to shake things up, include an interview on your next project!
Imagine developing a set of questions and asking another person to provide the answers. You really don’t know how that person will respond. Will you learn something funny, hit an emotional cord or gain a piece of information you never knew before? Story telling via an interview can result in unique journaling that you simply cannot predict. If you are looking to make a one of a kind page, this is one way to accomplish that!
Each talented artist below utilized an interview on her page. The creative part is incorporating that interview into a design that suits it perfectly! They did a great job, don’t you think?

Home Sweet Home by Brianne Nevill
Supplies: Paper, Brads, Die Cuts: My Mind's Eye, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Stickers: My Mind's Eye, Making Memories, Ink: Clearsnap, Font: Baskerville Old World (dafont).
Design Notes: Brianne’s layout shows that you can gather meaningful information about a significant person in your life. A simple interview results in thoughtful answer and funny responses. It is a great way to show her husband’s personality.
Journaling: Interview with Rich September 2010 Me: What does home mean to you? R: A place of safety, security, and warmth. Home is happiness and love, filled with family and no worries of expectations. It's where you go to get away from the world. You and Matthew are my home. Me: Was your childhood home like this? R: Yes, I always felt surrounded by love and family. It was a simpler time then; more hard word but less worry. Me: Describe your "dream home" to me. R: One with a very large family room with no electronics and a large central fireplace. It would have warm colors throughout the house and a "space" for each person in the home to call their own. It would be spacious but not wasteful and a 3 car garage where I could park and work on my Jeep wouldn't hurt either.

What's Your Sports Style? by Trish Harwick
Supplies: Paper, Stickers: Pink Paislee, Cardstock: American Crafts, Chipboard: Maya Road, Alphabet: American Crafts, Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin Studio, Felt: Queen & Co, Twine: The Twinnery.com, Fonts: Arial Rounded MT Bold, Other: sewing machine.
Design Notes: I didn't have a bright yellow mist, so I created my own by mixing acrylic paint and water in a Ranger Mini Mister. The result was bright and thick!
Journaling: When you’re playing a tough game, what keeps you going? Telling yourself you can do it. The sport you love to watch most on TV is... basketball. After a Game, you are most likely to remember... your team's score. The main reason you would join an after school sport is... have fun with friends. Go team! You get a boost when you play sports with others; whether it is a formal team or just a bunch of friends. Team sports like volleyball, soccer and softball are perfect for you! You will also have fun during group activities.
