Sequins
This month at Chic Street, we are making something old new
again. Scrapbookers love adding shine and sparkle to
layouts and are borrowing sequins from the world of fashion.
From red carpet dresses to Broadway costumes to the perfect
night out clutch, sequins is a staple in the fashion industry.
Now the time has come that these disk-shaped beads take over the scrapbooking world and flaunt its wide variety of colors and geometrical shapes.
While visiting galleries, I noted that a lot of scrapbookers have incorporated sequins on their pages. These
small touches add texture and shine to any pages. Take a peek!

Today by Aida Haron
Supplies: Paper: G.C.D. Studios, KI Memories, Cardstock: Bazill Basics Paper, Flowers: Prima Marketing, Buttons: Foof-a-la, Lace: Maya Road, Ink: Ranger Industries, Embossing Powder: American Crafts, Other: sequins.
Tools: Stamps: Catslife Press, Stampers Anonymous, Die Cut Machine, Dies: Big Shot, Other: heat gun.
Design Notes: I like using chipboard frame diecuts made with Sizzix dies. Glue the pattern paper on the chipboard and then run it through the die cutting machine. Emboss the chipboard with UTEE. This gives you a chipboard accent that is coordinated with the papers in the layout.
Journaling: Teenager - every emotion ten times, conforming yet rebellions. Always obeying yet somehow an outlaw, always talking but thinking they are never heard.

Bliss by Kat Poole
Supplies: Cardstock: Paper Reflections, Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts, Flowers: Petaloo, Paint: Plaid, Sequins: Doodlebug Design, Software: ArcSoft PhotoImpression 6, Other: ribbon.
Design Notes: This is a picture that my friend took while on vacation in Hawaii. I thought the picture was absolutely gorgeous and of course, I had to scrap it! I played around with some photo editing software
to get the the different looks. I also created the simple background with acrylic paint and a thick brush.
