Category Stories
It is not new to any of you that I love a good challenge blog! But, about six months ago, one in particular caught my eye and grabbed my attention. So much in fact, I tried out to be a member of their eclectic design team. I was so intrigued by the quality of prompts, how thought-provoking they were, that I couldn’t resist. When I jumped in and let creativity lead me, I was surprised by my end results ... pages and projects that weren’t necessary my typical style, yet were definitely me. Now, that is a good challenge blog. The name of this awesome site is Category Stories. It is one of the places I call home.
Twice each month, interesting and unique categories are provided to the readers. Participants are encouraged to make any art they would like ranging from pages to quilts to home décor. Some projects have multiple photos and others have none. The sky is truly the limit. I am consistently taken aback by the range of talent and styles on this talented team. My fellow storytellers freely make art and make it from the bottom of their heart. Viewing the work, you might be tempted to giggle, to cry, to feel angry, but mostly you will feel obligated to relate to what you see.
Past categories have included prompts such as “Stuck in a Moment”, “Unexpected” and “Shop Till You Drop”. This month’s first category is called “Saturday Morning Cartoons”. Look at how team took that idea and ran with it! Total eye-candy!
