Paper Trunk
Go Green. Reuse. Reduce. Recycle.
What is your carbon footprint? We hear the buzz words of
the environment movement and we take action in various areas of
our lives. But is scrapbooking one of them? I
confess that I sometimes feel guilty about my paper obsession.
After all, innocent trees have sacrificed themselves for my
personal joy. But when I scrap with Paper Trunk products,
I can leave my guilt behind.
Paper Trunk is a company that has set itself apart by committing to be innovative and loyal to eco-friendly products of the highest quality. The 12”x12”double-sided cardstock sheets are printed with vegetable-based inks and manufactured with wind-generated electricity. The cardstock is 30% PCW (Post Consumer Waste), providing an option of greener scrapbooking.
The commitment to provide supplies for green crafting extends beyond the products themselves and into the packaging of Paper Trunk products. Whenever possible, recycled or minimal packaging is used. For example, the 12” acrylic border stamps are packaged in a recycled kraft bag and tied with jute string. In addition to the eco-friendly packaging, this gives Paper Trunk products a unique and eye-catching look in a scrapbook store.

Journaling: I don’t watch the news. It’s too depressing and ends up giving me undeserved anxiety. Instead, I read blogs and Facebook. Every day I share in the joy of friends, read about family’s daily events, and enjoy seeing creativity as it unfolds from designers that I draw inspiration from. Maybe in a few years I will feel differently. Then again, maybe not…

Journaling: So sad. A rainy day
when you wanted nothing more than to go to the park with your
friends. You had plans for a picnic and chalk art, but
instead you are trapped in the house. I could jolly you
out of this icky mood or suggest some alternatives, but I am
sitting back right now waiting to see how you will handle your
own disappointment. It is not an easy part of being a mom,
but it is an important part. Will my darling 10 year old
decide to spend the afternoon sulking? Or will you dust
yourself off, jump up, and find a way to enjoy the day? I
have faith in you, pumpkin. I know you and Teddy will find
your way through the day.

Design Notes: I love the color combination of pink, green and brown ... perfect for
little girls! The design on the white patterned paper resembled a rainbow to me and
it inspired this whole layout. I handcut the flowers from a sheet of paper, saving
money and time as I didn't have to find other coordinating embellishments!
Journaling: You were so content to play in the water all by yourself this vacation.
You wouldn't go in deep, but loved the little waves. Back & forth into the ocean,
more times than I could count.
