This month's special mini album is a Mom's Brag book made by Debbie Standard. The bright fun colors and flowers immediately caught my eye when I first saw this album.

Debbie Standard is a critical care nurse working as the head of the Trauma Case Managers in a Level One Trauma Center in South Texas. She is a wife and mother to four children, two step-children and a grandma to eleven grandchildren. Debbie said she started scrapping about ten years ago and still loves it today. Over the last few years she has begun submitting her work and has been published in Scrapbook Trends, Scrapbook Cards, Memory Makers Books and Scrapbook and Cards Today. She is currently on the design team for Core'dinations Cardstock and I Am A Scrapaholic.

I asked Debbie to share some tips and tricks on how she put her brag book together. She told me that she first painted the petals of the flowers yellow and then added her patterned paper. Debbie also shared with me, that making mini albums gives her a chance to use all the little embellishments and rub-ons that just won't work on a layout.

Mom's Brag Book by Debbie Standard

Editor's Notes: We love that Debbie is not shy about color and is willing to take a risk with using different manufacturers and lines for her very creative mini-album.

Debbie also says don't be afraid to use anything- ribbon, buttons, bling- anything goes on a mini. Just to have fun with your pages!

So if you have a spectacular altered item or mini album and would like to share your tips and ideas, don't forget to submit your work to Submissions@ScrapStreet.com, and possibly be featured here.
