A Taste of the Happiest Place On Earth
"I think what I want Disneyland to be most of all is a happy place - a place where adults and children can experience some of the wonders of life, of adventure, and feel better because of it." (Walt Disney, 1955)
So much has happened since the first ticket for Disneyland (Ticket number 000001) was sold to Walt Disney’s brother, Roy, for $1 in 1955. Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which was founded in 1955, was the first Disney theme park, followed by Florida’s Disney World in 1971. They were since followed by Tokyo Disneyland Park (1983), Euro Disney in France (1992) and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (2005). While the number of theme parks has increased (and so did the ticket price!!!), the main attraction remains - - Disney is the happiest place on earth.

Design notes: I wanted to give my layout a Disney flair without it being completely Disney so I went with the red and white polka dot paper and kept the rest of the embellishments on the layout fairly simple so that they would not compete with the patterned paper.

Journaling: How
could
you not
have fun
at
Disney?
We had a
blast
exploring
both
parks
for two
days.
California
Adventure
was not
quite as
fun as
Disneyland,
but
can't
really
compete
with the
original.
It was
so fun
to go
around
the
parts of
the park
and of
course,
no trip
is
complete
without
a visit
to
Mickey.

Design notes: Some of these pictures are old and not as clear as I wish, but I find it amazing how much the castle has changed over the years.

It doesn't matter how many times we visit, we always have to get a picture of... THE CASTLE.

Design notes: I took 5 different pattern papers and going diagonally I did each row a different
pattern then repeated when I got to the 5th paper. I also cut chipboard/sticker words and added them to separate boxes but kept them next to each other so it looks like one piece still. I kept adding bits of embellishments to each box as I went until I was happy with the piece. As for the top of the box, I hot glued the letters and the Mickey Mouse chipboard.
