Growing up my mother did not allow too many sweets in the house; I think this is why at a young age Halloween was hands down one of the “coolest holidays” at our house. My brothers and I would spend countless hours dreaming about our costumes, counting and re-counting just how many days were left before the “big night”- yes, it was a very anticipated holiday to say the least.
I remember many years after trick-or-treating for hours on end, coming home to count out just how many amazing treats we were able to score. It was always exciting to be the one with the “most candy bars” since small candy bars were much more rare back then. There were many years that I rubbed it into my brothers’ faces that I scored more of the coveted treats. Yes, even back then I was competitive; growing up with two brothers forced that for me.

It’s all about the costume card by Lori Hairston
Supplies: Papers: Making Memories, Cosmo Cricket, K & Company, Image: Dover, Die-Cut Card: Fancy Pants Designs, Ribbon: Offray, Embroidery Floss: DMC, Decorative Scissors: Fiskars, Stamps: Papertrey Ink, Stampin' Up!, Inkadinkado, Studio G, Ink: Ranger, Other: ribbon.
Design Notes: Swing cards can be any size. Decide how large
you would like the center portion to be. Cut a rectangle somewhat larger. Use a craft knife to cut out the center, leaving a portion of the center attached at top and bottom. Score the outside rectangle vertically where the two are still joined. Decorate!

Which Witch is Which by Peggy Nardini
Supplies: Papers: Scrappin' Sports & More, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Rub-Ons: Doodlebug Design, Stamp: Stampendous!, Ink: Close To My Heart, Pens: ZIG, Punch: Fiskars, Other: ribbon.
Design Notes: Using my favorite Halloween stamp, I cut a portion of it out to use on this card. I colored in the image using CTMH ink and blending pen along with ZIG Brush and Scroll markers. I used white ink around the edges of the dotted circle to help pop it out off the black background. Who wouldn't want to "Step Out" on the town with this stylish witch? |
