Circles of fun

Lately, when I search the galleries on various scrapbooking websites, I notice that several scrappers are using circles on their layouts. This seems to be a trend that’s been around for awhile but scrappers never get tired of using and I can see why! Circles can create a fun, energetic appearance to your layouts and can also draw your attention to specific details on a layout. With the right templates and punches, scrapbookers can create a variety of circles in a variety of sizes for their layouts.

Take a look at Kristina Profit’s layout, “I’ll take good care of your heart.” The small border of circles helps draw your attention across the layout keeping it clean and focused. Did you notice how Sasha Holloway used several circles to draw your attention to the photo? Look at how I used three circles and overlapped them be behind the photo to create an interesting design. These are all effective ways to use circles to help pull the viewer’s attention to the photos while maintaining a fun and interesting layout.

I’ll take good care of your heart by Kristina Profit

Supplies:Papers, Tags, Chipboard, Buttons, Pen: American Crafts, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper.

Design Notes: I love color blocking and that's just what I did with the kraft and orange. I rounded the corners of each to give it a softer look and then punched out circles of patterned paper to draw the eye across the layout.

Journaling: "mommy, I'll take good care of your heart"

Shutter Sistah by Sasha Holloway
