Picture It Black and White
As we fully enter Fall, my soul is filled with warm, inviting feelings of comfort and home. I miss seeing the leaves change from bright green to the brilliant shades of autumn. With Sepia toned photos, you can add an antiqued feeling to a present day photo, or you can change a funny cowboy picture of a child to one that feels like it was taken in the “Wild West”! Also, by leaving a touch of color to a photo and bringing in more sepia, you can add depth and warmth to a slightly dull photo.
Charlotte’s layout, “Mordue!” touches on one of my favorite book series, Twilight. By giving her photo a sepia tone, she is able to layer images of the books onto the picture in color giving her photo an eerie but equally dazzling feel! Sepia combined with a soft light layer on a photo can really add to the “dreamy” effect as in Lisa’s layout “…Favorites…”. I personally love how Beate’s photos of her laughing daughter in the layout “Why Kid’s Laugh” are incorporated with the grunged paper line. The multiple photos give a great feeling of movement as well!

Tout simplement mordue! (Simply Bitten!) by Charlotte Sauvage
Supplies: Papers: October Afternoon, My Mind’s Eye, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Labels: Jenni Bowlin Studio, Making Memories, Bling: Strass Gaïa, Brads: Queen & Co., Flower: Prima Marketing, Stickers: American Crafts, Stamps: Heidi Swapp, Artemio, Other: old book page, chipboard, lace border.
Design Notes: I made my own flower embellishment by first cutting two circles out of the recycled book page and one out of patterned paper. After crumpling the papers, I layered them and finished with a big brad.
