Picture It Black and White

In Karen’s layout “Faith…Love”, the vintage feel to the photo is enhanced by burned edges. The colors of the layout are also perfect with the photo tone! On Kathie’s canvas “Bloom”, the sepia toned photo is beautifully mounted to create an ageless piece of art to hang in her home. Corinne’s layout “5 Ans”, has the photo of her daughter in the straw hat perfectly converted to a sepia tone. The depth of field on the photo is amazing and with the added depth of the tone, it really gives off a sharp feel.

Whether you are trying to obtain dark and mysterious or warm and fuzzy, photo tone can really bring your photos to life!

Faith ... Love by Karen Maldonado

Supplies: Papers, Bingo Card: Jenni Bowlin Studio, Little Yellow Bicycle, Cardstock: Prism, Rub-Ons: American Crafts Ink: Tim Holtz, Floss: DMC, Buttons: American Crafts, Punches: Marvy Uchida, Tool: Cuttlebug ( Provocraft).

Design Notes: The Sepia photo has burned edges to focus in on the children, adding to the vintage feel of the layout. The entire layout has been distressed and has hand stitching added. The mini journaling letters were typed on the computer, printed and inked. The flower was layered three times by using pop dots, inking, and then crumpled to achieve this look. The top corner includes paper tearing and a little button that has a rub-on added to it!

Journaling: Faith plants the seeds...Love makes it grow!

Bloom Canvas by Kathie Davis

Supplies: Paper, Chipboard: Pink Paislee, Ink: Ranger, Stamps: Studio G, Buttons, Ribbon: Rusty Pickle, Other: swirl template, string.

Design Notes: The photo was altered from color to sepia using Photoshop. Using the Ranger Ink blending tool I applied a swirl with a swirl template to the background with Distress ink, then also applied ink around the edge of the canvas and around the photo. A glue stick worked well for applying the paper and Zip Dry glue for the chipboard.

Journaling: Bloom where you are planted.

5 ANS (five years) by Corinne Leclercq

Supplies: Papers: 7Gypsies, Sassafrass Lass, Leaves: Prima Marketing, Chipboard: Oh Lala Designs, Paint: Cordeline, Other: abaca, book page, clothing label.

Design Notes: I love this photo black and of Lorina my daughter who wears a straw hat. I wanted to keep the spirit of keeping rustic colors reminiscent of nature.
