Welcome to the “Bouncing Baby” edition of Digital Discovery! I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Donna Espiritu and her cute and young scrapping subjects! Donna sent us some of the cutest little baby pages and I’m glad she decided to go that route for her feature article.
In just three pages from her digital scrapbook, Donna provides material for a variety of ages, sexes and personalities. Her pages look like they could be right out of a digital tutorial book bought off the rack from my local craft store – and she makes it look so easy to do!
I love Donna’s sweet, simple, white-space style, but every page is so much more than that. Combining color palettes, framing photos, and wrapping elements are all signature techniques shown here. I also love her title work – why not take inspiration from a paper supply and design a title the same way? (See “I am too cute” and her Tiny Alphas-inspired title.)
I think Donna shows versatility throughout her pages and her work – I do feel as if I could cut out a picture of any one of these babies and substitute a photograph of my pet, my mom or my neighbor. Taking note from her techniques and element properties, her style could be used for many ages, photos and subjects.
Well done, Donna – congratulations on being discovered! We thoroughly enjoyed your journey with us, however “small” it might be!

I am too cute by Donna Espiritu
Digital Supplies: Strolling Through The Park kit by Ziggle Scraps (Scrap Orchard), Font: Century Gothic.
Design Notes: I am a traditional paper scrapper as well and one of my favorite traditional scrapbook materials is the Making Memories Tiny Alphas. So with my digital layouts, I like to re-create this by making my own tiny alphas by cutting a small piece of paper and writing each letter/word on the pieces for an instant title work.
Journaling: Cheska - Family Day 2009 Pasig City.

Sweet Beginning by Donna Espiritu
Digital Supplies: Luvbug kit by Mari Koegelenberg (The Digichik), Fonts: Edwardian Script and Century Gothic.
Design Notes: I kept this one really simple. I just did a simple clustering of elements. Again, I used one of my most favorite things to do in my digi-layouts, I cut small pieces of coordinating paper in the kit and typed individual letters on it and these served as letters to my title.
Journaling: A new baby is like the beginning of all things.. Wonder, Hope and a Dream of Possibilities.

Pretty Flower Girl by Donna Espiritu
Digital Supplies: Lovelight by Madame Wing, Pink flower: Miss you mini-kits by Madame Wing (Sunshine Studio Scraps), Fonts: Century Gothic, Edwardian Script, Times New Roman.
Design Notes: This was one my entry layouts for a contest at Digiscrapaddicts.com, Battle of the Creative Teams 2009. We were to do a white-spaced layout and for additional interest, we used pink as our main color, a touch of green and lavender/purple/violet.
Journaling: 04/12/08. Peter and Vera's wedding.
