Scrapping In Grids

Nicole Martel

8

Just recently in the October issue of the Creating Keepsakes magazine, Ali Edwards said that she was a big fan of grids because they “set her up for success by creating homes for her content, such as words, photos, and embellishments”. I couldn't have said it better.

I hope that these layouts inspire you to experimenting with a grid format on your layouts. This month try doing something different. Dig out those beautiful photos and square punches and experiment. Have fun and enjoy the process!

Unwind by Vanessa Guterrez

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Flowers: Prints-International, Stencil: The Crafters WorkShop, Other: thread. Font: Brush Script Mt.

Design Notes: I cut out the photos into 3 sections horizontally and vertically. I rounded the corners of each piece by using the corner rounder, and then positioned every piece into its place. I stitched the swirls on the side. I used the stencil to draw the swirls and double it up. Then using a paper piercer, I followed the shape of the stencil and pierced the pattern. Lastly I sew it on a slanting position. I used my own handwriting to make a title. First, I got a paper and used a calligraphy pen. I wrote my title on it and cut it out. Pasted it downwards at the back of the cardstock and cut it out again.

Journaling: I love photo-shooting! It's my best way of relaxation.

Supplies: Papers: Cosmo Cricket, GCD Studios, Die-Cut, Chipboard: BasicGrey, Lace: We R Memory Keepers, Pebbles Inc., Stickers: Darby Flitter, Crystals: Imaginisce, Other: ribbon.

Design Notes: Try scattering embellishments within the grid.

Design Notes: The pictures were made for my wedding by a French talented photographer, Anne-Lise Larcher.

Journaling: Il faut savoir attraper le bonheur quand il se présente! Je suis heureuse que tu te sois pris à mes filets, je t'aime...  (We must get to catch happiness when it presents itself! I am happily that you caught in my nets, I love you).
