Creating with the Scor-it Board

What did you put on your Holiday list this year?  Are you dreaming of scrappy goodies?  I confess that I have trouble waiting for the holiday to roll around as patience is not my best friend.  A few of my favorites have already snuck there way into my scrap room.

Even though I am a dedicated shopper, I am not a tool junky.  I use my computer, a few basic punches, and my Fiskars cutter.  My sewing machine makes an appearance from time to time.  Recently, after much deliberation and discussion, I added the Cuttlebug to my desk.

Because I am not a tool gal, I did not understand the buzz about the Scor-it.  I acquired mine almost 6 months ago now and it is a constant on my desk.  It makes creating cards and fun gift items a breeze.  Take a peek at some of our holiday Scor-it pretties.

Design Notes: Need a gift for a friend or a teacher in a snap this season? Grab your scor-it and make up a mini pizza box. Decorate the outside and fill with some hot cocoa, marshmallows, and a peppermint. Total cost is under 1 dollar and it will make a big impression!

Holiday Gift Boxes with Carrier by Janice Badger

Supplies: Tool: Scor-it Board, Paper, Rub-Ons, Stickers: Fancy Pants Designs, Template: Milk Made Carton and Crate Template by Lauren Meader, Transparency: The Paper Company, Dies: Spellbinders, Ink: Stampin' Up!, Other Tools: corner rounder (Creative Memories), Crop-A-Dile (We R Memory Keepers), Cuttlebug (ProvoCraft), Adhesive: Scotch, Therm-O-Web, Other: ribbon.

Design Notes: Since I've been using it for the last 6 months or so, I know how well and how easily the Scor-It works on paper. For this project, I thought I'd test it out on transparency sheets. First, I printed the template on regular printer paper. I placed the transparency sheet on the paper. (It did not need adhesive as they clung together pretty well, but you could use a temporary adhesive to make sure the transparency doesn't shift.) I trimmed the edges, then applied my rub-on where I wanted it. While both sheets were still together, I scored the dashed lines. Scoring the transparency sheet resulted in a much crisper fold than paper gives. The resulting transparent box is adorable!
