Winter 2012 Calls

A Tisket A Tasket. There are many ways to embellish your layout, card or album. Most of us use ready-made embellishments; but let’s think outside the box and weave. Yes, weave something on your project and make it stand out. Use ribbons, tissue, or cardstock, etc – use your imagination and show us your creativity.

Gone But Not Forgotten.  Some of our favorite Scrapbooking company's that are no longer in business lets show some love~so dig through your stash and bring out an oldie but goody!!!

Bow Ties.  Calling layouts and cards showcasing bow ties! These adorable little accessaries aren't just for wearing but for scrapping as well

Thank You Snow Much. January is National Thank You Month. Now that all the holiday hubbub is over, it’s the perfect time to show your gratitude. Perhaps you want to send thank you cards for Christmas gifts, or show someone your appreciation for helping you during a difficult time. Show us your winter-themed thank you cards.

White on White. January could be snow much fun. I love this white, clean winter month. Get inspired by the cool and crispy snowflakes, the ice and the beautiful winter light, and make a mono tone, white on white layout or card.

Graffiti.  Put on your art smock! Each issue we’ll infuse a famous artist or technique into scrapbooking. Drip paint onto your paper as your background or get out your mists and splatter, it’s time to be inspired by Jackson Pollock. Show us your cards, pages, and projects. Let’s get messy!

Wall Street. Paper is cheap! When trying to save money, making your patterned paper go the extra mile can help you save big, but we all still want that dimension and/or texture that usually comes from the more expensive elements. Show me your pages where you have used patterned paper to create dimensional elements.

Daily Drive. Rise and Shine! Do you have a morning routine that you (or your family) do every morning? Do you start the morning coffee, make your children breakfast and then take your furry friend outside for a quick walk? Perhaps you hit that snooze alarm two times before prying yourself out of the bed or do you wake up wide awake, singing praises to the day? Please share layouts reflecting your morning routine with us!

Open Road. True Confessions! Scrap a confession...think guilty pleasures, a secret side of yourself, the most outrageous thing you have done, a job you would love to have!

Technique Turn: Three stamps are better than one! Get your image or background stamps out and choose three that will work together. Think scene, backgrounds, embellishments or paper piece one stamp with another. You decide how to combine three to create one outstanding card or scrapbook page. Please no individual word stamps, we want to see the creative combination of your image or background stamps.

Card Corner. As we enter into a season of new and fresh beginnings, love and friendship we want to feature cards showcasing sentiments including New Years, Valentine's Day, Friendship as well as Thank You, Happy Birthday and Congratulations. Take a look at the following techniques we'll be featuring and send us your fabulous cards!

Color Combo. It's the season of love. Send us your cards showcasing any shade of pink and red. You can throw in a neutral and one other color to "pop" but keep the focus on those "love"ly colors.

Feeling Misty. We've seen them used on layouts and altered projects but we want to see how YOU showcase mists and inks on a small canvas. Send in your cards using mists. You can use masks, maybe mist an embellishment. Be sure to include design notes on how you used mists on your card!

Ribbon. Ribbon adds a fun texture to all of our projects. We want to see creative ways you use ribbon on your cards.

Being Transparent. Feeling like people are seeing right through you lately? No? Well, we'd like people to see right through your cards! Use a clear media such as acrylic or transparencies. Get creative - cut them, ink them, use it as a base. Whatever you do we want to see them!

I Heart You. Heart embellishments, hearts used in a sentiment or stamp, heart shaped cards. These are just a few of the many ideas a heart can be used on your cards. Send in your creative card featuring a heart (or hearts)!

Inspiration Way. All things retro!  Draw your inspiration from the image below and let your creativity flow! Think out of the box and make a layout of any size or a card or an altered item, any project goes! Please include a line in your submission telling us how this image inspired you.
