| Hey Cupid! Love is in the air. Can you feel it? This is the time of year when pink and red take over the world. Couples give each other those glances that make each other melt, and everyone seems to be in love. I’ve got some beautiful creations to share with you this month that will surely inspire you to create your own special something for that special someone. Let’s begin with hearts! How can we not have hearts on Valentine’s day? You can go with a simple cut out embellishment to add that perfect touch, like Di’s card, or you can get super creative with some buttons, like Robyn did. Both are so different but no matter what, the heart definitely completes the card. Cherish Always by Di Hickman Supplies: Paper, Ribbon: Prima Marketing, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Ink: Around the Block. Digital Supplies: Kit: One Sweet Day (Corinna Neilsen). Design Notes: Mixing digital and traditional projects is something I love to do. To create a unified look to the card I inked all the edges with black ink. It ties together the traditional and digital products, and makes the sentiment panels look softer. Sweet Love by Robyn Schaub Supplies: Paper, Rub-Ons, Ribbon: Imaginisce, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Chipboard: BoBunny Press, Ink: Tsukineko, Other: buttons. Design Notes: I have a ton of buttons in every color, so I thought it would be fun to "alter" some chipboard by covering it in buttons. I inked the chipboard heart shape with white ink, then glued the buttons on top to cover as much of it as I could, overlapping some here and there. Love by Melissa Elsner Supplies: Paper, Die-Cuts: My Mind’s Eye, Cardstock: The Paper Company, Ribbon: Martha Stewart Crafts, Bling: Kaisercraft, Glaze: Ranger Industries. Tools: Punch: EK Success. Design Notes: Spice up your paper embellishments with some glossiness. The heart die cut looked too dull on the card, even with the bling. So I added some Glossy Accents and now the card shines! |
