Mama Love
Mom, Mother, Mommy, Mama. However you say it, we all have one and many of us are one, and this is the month to celebrate them! They love us before we’re even born, walk the floor with us at 3 am, kiss boo boos, and give hugs and advice too. We keep images in our head of what mom looks like. Maybe it was that blue floral dress she wore to special events, or the way she did her hair just right with bobby pins. Almost everyone can name that special dish that mom made when we were growing up. It’s one of those things that we remember so well that you can nearly smell it as you talk about it!
No, not all memories are rosy and beautiful. We do remember that time we talked back, we put gum in our brother or sister’s hair, or stayed out past curfew. But we took those not so great moments and (hopefully) learned from them! Mom forgives and we move past that and onto more great memories. I’m a sucker for layouts with vintage photos of parents and grandparents, whether it be of sweet memories, sad memories or just any sentimental value.

Never To Be Forgotten by Cheryl Casas

Design Notes: The envelope holds my heartache. I inked and stamped it with script. I used some cut outs from the Lost and Found Collection to decorate it as well. I used a lot of wet
distressing and layers throughout the whole page.
Journaling: (tucked away in envelope contains my heartache) "The Ironies of Your Death" How angry I was at God for 'taking you away from me' when you were diagnosed with cancer. Then at the end I pleaded with him to take you away, so you wouldn't have to suffer anymore. It feels like I hardly got to have you in my life, that you were taken too soon. But I was fortunate to have you in my life, as long as I did. I miss you so much and I know I will never see you again. But then, when my journey is over here, we will be together again. My mom at age 17 in 1957.
