A Peek into Household Six (HH6)
Military Spouses are commonly referred to as "Household 6". The name is derived from where said wife spends most of her time (the household), and the number 6 is the designation for a commander of a Company/Troop, Battalion/Squadron, Brigade/Regiment, Division or Corps. Our lives are full of acronyms, camouflage and tearful goodbyes. We learn things like how to make the most of the commissary (grocery store) and where to buy a missing ACU (uniform) button. We love to remember our joyful “hellos” as in Erin’s layout “Happy Heart” and how much fun our kids have when “Daddy” is home as in Charlotte’s layout “My Daddy, My Hero”. When they are home we capture and hold tight to the positive memories as in Karen’s Layout, “Cherish This” for those are the ones that keep us smiling during the long separations.
