Whether you are a digital or traditional scrapbooker, there are so many gorgeous paper collections out there right now that are perfect for your summer layouts. As you can see on the previous page and the one to follow, water play is a popular summer activity to capture. You can go many ways with your design when creating these layouts. Cari chose to keep a nice calm blue color scheme with her black and white photo while Carolyn used blue’s complementary color orange to play off the water. Also check out how Leanne used browns to play off the beach, earthy colors. It makes such a huge difference for the end result of your layout and just depends on the direction you want to go.

Summer Smiles by Cari Locken
Supplies: Paper, Stickers, Bling: Imaginisce, Cardstock: Core’dinations, Chipboard, Alphabet: BasicGrey, Pen: American Crafts, Font: Arial. Tools: Punch: EK Success.
Design Notes: I cut strips of cardstock and then tore them along one edge to give it a “water/wave” effect.
Journaling: We had been invited to a friend’s house to swim in their pool and you were so excited. You had so much fun going back & forth from the pool to the hot tub. We were just so thrilled to be in the water because we were having such a hot, hot summer. And, of course, visiting with friends is always fun too!
