Picnics and Barbeques

Summer time is here! It’s the time of year when we can kick back and relax in the beautiful weather and enjoy leisurely activities like picnics and barbeques. Who doesn’t relish the thought of brats or burgers on the grill, fresh veggies straight from the garden, and of course, yummy frozen treats?

Look at the projects below. Melinda created a card and a matching basket for vegetables she grows from her garden. Bunny also created a card showcasing fresh food from the garden with her adorable melon card. She also included a not-so-favorite summertime attraction – ANTS! Sarah, on the other hand, created popsicle-shaped notecards that look yummy enough to eat!

While enjoying the summer, why not take inspiration from the delicious food all around us? Whether you choose to scrap a family reunion or your kids’ lemonade stand, summer offers a variety of food that is good to eat and scrap!

Summer Vegetables by Melinda Gleissner

Supplies: Paper: Echo Park Paper Co., Cardstock: Neenah Paper, Copic, Recollections, Ink: Tsukineko, Markers: Copic, Thread: May Arts, Other: buttons. Tools: Stamps: Stampendous.

Design Notes: This might sound corny (no pun intended) but my favorite summer food would have to be the fresh veggies that I grow in my garden. There’s always a surplus so I love to take the extras to neighbors and friends. I created a tag for a produce basket with a card, to be used when sharing some of my favorites.

Melon Miles Card by Bunny Vance

Editor's Notes: Bunny’s stamps complement the paper perfectly. The bright colors are the perfect hues for a summer-themed card.
