The Mist
This feminine layout by Kyra Patterson is beautiful. She did a fantastic job of stitching and misting and I love the pink and green mist combination. She not only misted on the background but she also created many of her flowers and curly embellishments using mists too. Kyra’s end results are gorgeous.
Looking at Irit Shalmon’s page you notice how the circle mask she misted over adds such a unique textured look to the striped background. It almost looks dimensional
and her faux stitching really brings the circles out. The bright color combinations with her diecuts, ribbon and stickers brighten things up. Without the added colors this layout would not have the stand out qualities that is has.
The gorgeous and unique tags created by Anita Scroggins shows just how misting can take on a different look with each project. The color of the ribbons, ink, mist, and embellishments makes each one a beautiful piece of art. Anita has added so much detail and love to each tag they just reach right out to you.
All of these talented ladies shared with us some ideas on how to successfully use mists on your paper projects. I hope they have opened up ideas for you to try when you are creating your own one-of-a-kind card or layout. Don’t be afraid to experiment with mist combinations on scrap paper. Sometimes colors you would normally not mix, might surprise you when used together. Remember it’s all about being creative and working with what you like. With art, there is no right or wrong, there is only you and your creativity.

You are Exactly My Cup of Tea by Kyra Patterson
Supplies: Paper: Bo Bunny Designs, Bazzill Basics Paper, Flowers: Kaisercraft, Die Cuts: Bo Bunny Designs, Stickers, Brads: Francheville, Paint: Kaisercraft, Specialty Ink: Tattered Angels, Floss: Sew Easy, Other: chipboard, clear acetate. Tools: Die Cut Machine, Dies: Big Shot (Ellison), Punches: EK Success, Masks: The Crafters Workshop, Other: decorative scissors.
Design Notes: I placed The Crafters Workshop birdhouses template directly onto my chipboard shape that I had previously painted with white acrylic paint using a foam roller (this gave the slight texture to the page). Then I spritzed polka dot pink Glimmermist to the top half of the page and key lime pie Glimmermist to the bottom half. Next I used sew easy (scallop edge) tool to mark out the scallop line and I hand stitched this. I then placed The Crafters Workshop template on my patterned paper and traced one of the birdhouses with a bird on top and hand cut this. I attached my photos to the bottom of the page and then added my hand cut birdhouse. I made flowers using a pair of decorative edge scissors and various sized circles attached with a split pin. I also created other flowers using the small flower punch. I sprayed and scrunched the flowers and layered three of these together to create one full flower. I then made a grunge rose and clustered the flowers to the bottom left hand side of the page and one rosebud to the bottom right of the page. Lastly I adhered the diecut "You are exactly my cup of tea" to the bottom of the page and then embellished this with the tag.

Purfect Paper Tiger by Irit Shalom

Tools: Punches: Epiphany Crafts, EK Success, Masks: Tando Creative.
Design Notes: This page was the last one I made for our very first and beloved cat Donny. He was a kind of a perfect paper tiger, never thought about a fight. I used Tando Circles mask with a bit of Clearsnap mist, and then I made a faux stitching around every single circle with white pen
to show those circles of life.
Journaling: Donny was 14 years old when he left us forever. This was his very last photo. We miss you, Donny!
