When I started gathering information for this article, I looked up the word “black” on the internet. One of the articles I read made reference to black being a classic color for clothing. That’s when it hit me. Black. Clothing. Little black dress. Ah ha!
No, the layouts in this article aren’t about a little black dress, but they do convey similar effects.
One of the internet articles I read described the little black dress as being as simple as possible, with crisp clean lines. Being a “symmetrical scrapper” myself, I was instantly drawn to Carola and Maria’s pages. I love how the straight lines create such a classy feeling throughout their pages. The colored squares on Carola’s page made my eyes go directly to the smaller photos and the hint of rainbow coloring, while the squares of patterned papers on Maria’s page are a perfect contrast to her sweet photo. I love the fact that both Carola and Maria have also used straight lines in the frame work around their wonderful pages!

When I encounter a kit with lots of papers I love I usually go for a grid layout so I can showcase lots of them like I did with NEW. Also my color picture had purples and green that were not in the color
palette that I had picked but I so desperately wanted to use the picture of this sweet baby so I did what I do often do and that is make my picture black and white. |
